Cynthia Michele Watros aka Cynthia Watros is an Emmy-Award winning American television actress. In addition, she also made appearances in films and on stage also. Her best roles as Libby on the ABC TV series Lost, Kellie in The Drew Carey Show, Erin in Titus, and Annie Dutton in Guiding Light.
Cynthia earned her graduation from Lake Orion High School. She also attended Macomb Community College. Soon, she was transferred to Boston University where she received the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts. She then decided to move to New York City to pursue her dream to achieve name and fame. In the Broadway Musical Theatre production of Auntie Mame, she portrayed the character of Agnes Gooch. On ‘The Odd Couple’, she played one of the Pigeon sisters.
During 1994-1998, Cynthia Watros appeared as Annie Dutton on the CBS Soap Opera ‘Guiding Light’. Watros won a Daytime Emmy Award as “Outstanding Lead Actress” for her role on Guiding Light in 1998. In the very same year, Watros served as a stand-in as Victoria Hudson McKinnon on ‘Another World’ when the actual actress was on leave.
From 2000-02, Cynthia Watros portrayed Erin Fitzpatrick on ‘Titus’. She played the real-life fiancée of the title character and received recognition as a comedic actress.
After Titus’ cancellation, she took on the role of Kellie Newmark on ‘The Drew Carey Show’, replacing Christa Miller. Watros continued played the role from 2002 to 2004. Cynthia Watros worked along with the cast of Lost from 2005 to 2006 portraying psychologist Libby, a member of the “Tailies”, a group of survivors of the plane crash who were in the tail section of the plane. After her departure from the series, she made appearances as a guest star in flashbacks. She next filmed a pilot for a series ‘My Ex-Life’ but the pilot was rejected by CBS.
During her teenage, Cynthia Watros suffered with Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, an autoimmune disease of the blood. She herself has admitted that she had lost her hair and gained over 100 pounds as a result of this disease.
Watros developed a complicated friendship with Kim Zimmer after they met in an off-Broadway show Four Dogs and a Bone by John Patrick Shanley. Watros is married to Curtis Gilliland and has twin daughters, Emma Rose Marie, Sadie Anna Marie with him.
Watros got arrested along with her Lost co-star Michelle Rodriguez on December 1, 2005 in Kailua, Hawaii. Police said both women failed field sobriety tests. Later, they’re released on $500 bail each.
Role on ‘Lost’
Cynthia Watros portrays Elizabeth “Libby” on the hit survivor drama ‘Lost’. We first see her among the survivors of the tail section. She’s first introduced in the second season of series. She has made appearance in twenty one episodes of series so far. She was not seen during the third season of ‘Lost’ as she was shot dead towards the end of season 2, but she returned in the fourth season of the show in flashbacks.
