Evangeline Lilly took birth in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. She belongs to a devoutly Evangelical Christian family. Her father is a home economics teacher, and her mother is a beauty consultant. She has a younger sister Andrea. She attended Fort Elementary, Rudolph Henning and James Mowat Elementary school. When she was 10, she left the city of Fort Saskatchewan. Lilly served as a foreign missionary and lived in a grass hut in Philippines. Soon, she got an offer for a missionary post there. Initially, she thought to accept but later declined, as her parents were not ready to allow her to do so. She also served as a flight attendant for Air Canada. She speaks French quite fluently .
Ford Modeling Agency discovered her talent while she was in Kelowna, British Columbia. She signed a contract with Ford Models, hoping it’d be helpful to pay her University of British Columbia tuition and expenses etc. She also made appearances in several TV commercials for LiveLinks Chatline. Evangeline also appeared on ABC supernatural horror series ‘Kingdom Hospital’.
Her first speaking role was on Lost. In the 2003 teenager movie ‘The Lizzie McGuire Movie’, she portrayed the character of an Italian police officer. She earned $80,000 for each episode of ‘Lost’. In 2004, she became one of the Breakout Stars of 2004, elected by Entertainment Weekly. In 2006, she appeared on No. 13th in the FHM’s ‘100 Sexiest Women in the World’. On Maxim’s 2005 list of ‘Hot 100′, Evangeline was placed on No. 2. In the following year, 2006, she appeared on 67th no. In the same year, she got a nomination for Golden Globe in the category of Best Lead Actress Drama.
Evangeline Lilly had been once married to Canadian hockey player Murray Hone. She was also engaged to her former Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan. As per her self statements, she lives in a bubble, and doesn’t even watch television.
Lilly promotes Just Yell Fire, a video aimed to teach teenage girls how to defend themselves against rapists. During her summer break between the first and second seasons of Lost, Lilly visited the poor people in Rwanda.
On December 20, 2006, Lilly’s house caught fire and was completely destroyed. At that time, she was on the set of ‘Lost’ along with her two roommates. Later, it was discovered that fire was caused by an electrical problem.
In 2007, Evangeline Lilly received a nomination for Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama. In the very same year, she was nominated for Saturn Award for Best Actress on a Television Series.

Evangeline Lilly portrays Kate Austen on ‘Lost’. She’s one of the survivors of crash and while on the Island, she develops feelings for Sawyer and Jack. We later see her raising Claire’s son and pretending to be his biological mother. When Jack and her relationship come to an end, she desires to reconcile with him.
