Jeremy Davies was born in Traverse City, Michigan. His father, Mel Boring, is children’s author. He has three siblings- Josh, Zachary and Katy. Josh is the eldest and is an Air Force pilot. Zachary is his younger brother and his sister Katy is the youngest in the family. His parents got separated when he was young so he relocated to Kansas along with his mother. His mother passed away, due to lupus, in mid 1970s so he returned to live with his father and stepmother in Santa Barbara, California.

Jeremy Davies’ name came into limelight when he made appearance on a 1990 episode of ‘Singer & Sons’. In 1992, he made his appearance on two episodes of ‘The Wonder Years’. His next appearances were on NBC TV movie Shoot First: A Cop’s Vengeance and, as a “Scruffy Kid”, in the pilot for a colonial-era sitcom called ‘1775′. During that time period, he also appeared as a youth in the Showtime thriller ‘Guncrazy’ and also had a guest appearance on ‘Melrose Place’.

In 1993, Davies landed a role in a TV commercial for ‘Subaru’. His excellent performance helped him to get noticed and he started getting feature film scripts. In 1998, Davies got a pivotal role in Steven Spielberg’s ‘Saving Private Ryan’, portraying Timothy E. Upham, an American GI linguist.

His next notable appearances were on ‘Secretary’ along with Maggie Gyllenhaal; Solaris with George Clooney. In 2004, he was seen portraying Charles Manson in ABC’s adaptation of Helter Skelter

Davies joined ‘Lost’, the very popular ABC series, during its fourth season in 2008. Davies plays the character of Daniel Faraday, a physicist who parachutes onto the island as part of an extraction team.

His other acting credits include ‘Spanking the Monkey’, ‘Nell’, ‘Going All the Way’ , ‘The Locusts’, ‘Saving Private Ryan’, ‘Ravenous’, ‘The Florentine’, ‘The Million Dollar Hotel’, ‘Up at the Villa’, ‘Investigating Sex’, ‘CQ’, ‘Teknolust’, ‘The Laramie Project’ ‘29 Palms’, ‘Helter Skelter’, ‘Manderlay’, ‘Rescue Dawn’, ‘Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple: Nemesis’, ‘General Hospital’, and ‘Rock the Boat’ etc.

Role on ‘Lost’

Jeremy Davies appears as Prof. Daniel Faraday on ‘Lost’. He was introduced in the fourth season of series. Professionally, he’s a Physics professor who initially worked at The Queen’s College, Oxford. He’s first seen as a parachutist on the Island who introduces himself as Daniel Faraday to Jack and Kate. His appearance on ‘Lost’ helped him to secure a very nice place in the hearts of fans.
