Jorge García is an American comedian and actor. Bringing him into limelight was his performance on the show ‘Becker’ in which he portrayed the character of Hector Lopez. As of now, Jorge is appearing in the very popular American series ‘Lost’ portraying the character of Hugo “Hurley” Reyes. García also performs as a stand-up comic.
García took birth in Omaha, Nebraska. His father was of Chilean descent and his mother has Cuban ancestry. Southern California is the place where Jorge Garcia grew up. He attended San Clemente High School. During his high school years, the faculty selected him as “Triton of the Year”, the highest award given to a graduating senior. On Troma Studio’s movie ‘Tales from the Crapper’, García was seen portraying a raccoon-headed young man who is unlucky in love.
He was the first actor who was selected for ‘Lost’ star cast. His appearance on ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ attracted the producers of ‘Lost’ and they were forced to create the character of Hugo Reyes specifically for him.
In the second episode of eighth season of ‘Celebrity Poker Showdown’, Jorge García played a very important role. Garcia also participated on an episode of ‘Russian Roulette’ on Game Show Network. He didn’t make it to the end.
