Lost seasons are fictional thriller fantasy shot at Oahu and Hawaii. The show has been produced by Production companies Bad Robot Productions and ABC Studios in association with executive producers J. J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof, Bryan Burk, Jack Bender, Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz and Carlton Cuse. It has been created by Jeffrey Lieber, J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof and mostly directed by Jack Bender and Stephen Williams. Theme music of the show has been composed by Michael Giacchino. Originally, the show has been broadcasted on ABC channel using 480i (SDTV), 720p (HDTV) ABC HD, 1080i (HDTV) Sky1 HD, Premiere HD and Seven HD Picture format. Lost Season 1 made its debut on 22nd September, 2009.
Lost season 1 opens with a fictional crash of Oceanic Flight 815 in which 324 people were on board, of which 72 survived initially including a dog. They land up in an unknown tropical island in South Pacific. They all work together to make a raft to leave the island and to continue to exist. Their existence is endangered by the malicious inhabitants of the island called ‘Others’, polar bears and undetected beings which roam in jungle.
Their encounter with ‘Others’ give birth to the differences between science and faith. The history of ‘others’ on this island and the reason for plane crash are described. Many new characters are introduced in the show that keeps moving in and out of time.
Lost seasons have been the second largest cast show nowadays running on American prime time with fourteen major roles. Currently Ben, Desmond, Hurley, Sawyer, Juliet, Jack, Faraday, Sayid, Sun, Kate, Locke, Jin, and Miles are regular characters of the show.
Till now, ‘Lost’ seasons have won awards like a Screen Actors Guild Award for ‘Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series’, Primetime Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Drama Series’ and Golden Globe Award for ‘Best Television Series - Drama’.
It has been nominated for 39 Saturn Awards, 21 Teen choice Awards, 6 Golden Globe Awards, 11 Golden reel Awards and 41 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Lost season 6 will be the final one continuing with the lives of fictional air crash survivors and will be premiered in 2010.
